Required Minimum Distribution

Rev. Jim and Gloria ThvedtFor the Rev. Jim and Gloria Thvedt, supporting Concordia is one way they say thanks for the valuable experiences they had as students.

At Concordia, they learned to appreciate good music and fine writing. They gained the confidence to embrace challenging opportunities and grew in their faith.

Perhaps most importantly, the couple met each other. They will soon have been married 60 years.

"Everything experienced at Concordia equipped me for all that has happened since," says Jim Thvedt.

To make sure current students get those same opportunities, the Thvedts' decided to give to Concordia from their IRA, or other qualified plan, through the Required Minimum Distribution.

These gifts are important to the couple who remembers how few scholarships were available to them as students and how essential scholarships were for their own children's education.

"We are thrilled to be able to support students," says Gloria Thvedt. "We don't have lots and lots of money, but we are more blessed than we ever dreamed."
